THE TOUR
Yes is a progressive rock band that formed in London in 1968. The band is known for its complex and symphonic style of rock music, marked by intricate compositions, virtuosic musicianship, and a unique blend of rock, classical, and symphonic elements. Yes is considered one of the pioneers of progressive rock and has had a significant influence on the genre.

The classic lineup of Yes included the following members:

  1. Jon Anderson (vocals): Jon Anderson was one of the founding members of Yes and the band's original lead vocalist. He had a distinctive, ethereal voice that contributed to the band's unique sound. Anderson's lyrics often drew inspiration from spirituality and nature.

  2. Chris Squire (bass): Chris Squire was the bassist and a co-founder of Yes. He was known for his distinctive bass sound and played a crucial role in shaping the band's progressive and symphonic sound. Squire was also the only member to have consistently appeared in every Yes lineup until his passing in 2015.

  3. Steve Howe (guitar): Steve Howe is a highly skilled and versatile guitarist who joined Yes in the early 1970s. His intricate and eclectic guitar work added a significant dimension to the band's music. Howe is known for playing both acoustic and electric guitars, as well as various other stringed instruments.

  4. Rick Wakeman (keyboards): Rick Wakeman is a renowned keyboardist who joined Yes in the early 1970s. He is known for his virtuosic keyboard skills and his extensive use of synthesizers, which greatly expanded the band's sonic palette. His contributions are particularly evident on albums like "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge."

  5. Alan White (drums): Alan White became the drummer for Yes in the early 1970s, replacing original drummer Bill Bruford. His solid and dynamic drumming provided a strong rhythmic foundation for the band's complex compositions.

Yes released several critically acclaimed albums during the 1970s, including "Fragile," "Close to the Edge," "Tales from Topographic Oceans," and "Going for the One." These albums are considered some of the band's most iconic and influential works.

Over the years, Yes went through various lineup changes, but the classic lineup mentioned above is often celebrated as the core group responsible for the band's most revered music. Yes remains an enduring presence in the world of progressive rock, with a legacy that has continued to influence and inspire generations of musicians and fans alike.
