Margerine Eclipse is the eighth studio album by English-French rock band Stereolab.

This experimental rock album is driven by themes of death and heartbreak. Prior to the recording of the album band member Mary Hansen was killed in a cycling accident. Then shortly after band members Time Gane and Laetitia Sadier ended their romantic relationship. These elements is what drove the album into a darker theme.

An interesting aspect of this albums sound is that each songs was recorded twice. Then when the final mixing occurred, both recordings were synchronised together, with one recording on the left channel and the other on the right channel.

Remastered from the original tapes, the packaging includes a bonus disk of original mixes, early versions and demos, as well as a scratch card and fold out poster, pressed in a heavyweight clear PVC wallet and gatefold sleeve.
