THE TOUR
The Saxon "Strong Arm of the Law" Winter Tour in 1980/81 was in support of their album of the same name "Strong Arm of the Law," which was released in 1980. The tour started in late 1980 and continued into early 1981, covering various cities in the UK and other parts of Europe.
The "Strong Arm of the Law" album was the band's third studio release and was well-received by fans and critics alike. It featured classic tracks like the title track "Strong Arm of the Law," "Dallas 1 PM," and "20,000 Ft." The album's success further solidified Saxon's position in the British heavy metal scene and helped them gain a growing international following.
During the tour, Saxon delivered high-energy performances that showcased their powerful and dynamic live presence. The band was known for their energetic stage performances and charismatic frontman Pete "Biff" Byford, who commanded the crowd with his strong vocals and engaging stage presence. The tour featured a mix of songs from the "Strong Arm of the Law" album as well as some of their earlier hits from previous albums like "Wheels of Steel" and "Saxon."
Saxon's sound during this era was characterized by heavy riffs, twin guitar harmonies, and anthemic choruses, making their concerts a thrilling experience for metal enthusiasts of the time.
