Purple Avengers have been tossing messages into psychedelic seas since 1987. Our home port is Brisbane (Meanjin), Australia. We are thrilled to announce that our classic psych album “Starlight’s Journey Home” is available again after 31 years and has been remastered and pressed on 180 gram Vinyl LP! The 1992 (Independent) and 1994 (Phantom) editions sold out quickly but it is finally back again for fans of full-flight freakouts! Includes the song “Leaves” that was in two 4ZZZ Hot 100s; ”Strangest Daybring”, which may be familiar to viewers of Rage in the wee small hours; and the epic sonic journey of “Dragged Up The Mountain Of Love”. Purple Avengers were a mainstay of the live scene and toured extensively. They performed at 4ZZZ Market Days and live-to-airs, and supported the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Died Pretty, Kim Salmon, The Hummingbirds, Deniz Tek and Dick Dale. Their song “Another World” was included on the 4ZZZ “Behind The Banana Curtain” compilation. Our thanks to 4ZZZ for all your ongoing support over the years! The band is due to release its sixth studio album in 2024
