THE TOUR
Whitesnake's original 1987 concert tour was in support of their self-titled album, commonly known as "Whitesnake" or "1987." The album, released in 1987, was a massive success for the band and featured some of their most iconic hits, including "Here I Go Again," "Is This Love," and "Still of the Night."

The tour kicked off on April 10, 1987, in Glasgow, Scotland, and continued throughout North America, Europe, and Japan until December 31, 1988. The band, led by lead vocalist David Coverdale, delivered electrifying performances to packed arenas and stadiums worldwide.

The lineup for the 1987 tour included some notable musicians who made significant contributions to the band's success during this era. In addition to Coverdale, the band featured guitarists John Sykes and Adrian Vandenberg, bassist Rudy Sarzo, keyboardist Don Airey, and drummer Tommy Aldridge. This lineup brought a powerful and energetic presence to the stage, captivating audiences with their raw talent and energetic performances.

The tour showcased Whitesnake's blend of hard rock and melodic ballads, with David Coverdale's soulful vocals and the band's tight musicianship. The setlist featured songs primarily from the "Whitesnake" album, as well as a selection of their previous hits. Concertgoers could expect to hear crowd favorites like "Crying in the Rain," "Slide It In," and "Fool for Your Loving."

The stage production for the tour was grand and visually appealing. It featured elaborate lighting, pyrotechnics, and a giant inflatable snake that became synonymous with the band. The showmanship and energetic performances of the band members created an unforgettable experience for fans.

The 1987 tour solidified Whitesnake's status as one of the premier rock acts of the 1980s. It propelled them to international fame and brought their music to a broader audience. The album and tour were commercial successes, with "Whitesnake" reaching multi-platinum status in several countries.
