THE TOUR
The PopMart Tour was a concert tour by the Irish rock band U2. It took place in 1997 and 1998 in support of their album "Pop," which was released in 1997. The tour was one of the most ambitious and extravagant in the band's history and was known for its massive stage setup and high-tech production.

Some of the notable features of the PopMart Tour included a 165-foot-tall golden arch, a 100-foot-wide video screen, and a giant lemon-shaped mirrorball that served as the band's entrance to the stage. The tour was designed to be a parody of consumerism and excess, with a theme that played on the idea of a massive, global, pop-culture extravaganza.

The setlist for the tour featured songs from the "Pop" album, as well as many of U2's classic hits. The tour spanned several continents, including North America, Europe, Asia, and South America, and it was one of the highest-grossing concert tours of the 1990s.

While the PopMart Tour was visually stunning and groundbreaking in terms of its production values, it was met with mixed reviews from both critics and fans. Some felt that the emphasis on spectacle overshadowed the music, while others appreciated the band's willingness to experiment and take risks.

In retrospect, the PopMart Tour is seen as a pivotal moment in U2's career, where they pushed the boundaries of what a rock concert could be. It set the stage for their subsequent tours, which continued to incorporate innovative stage design and technology.
