Glows in the Dark

The holographic Emperor in the original Star Wars trilogy, specifically in "The Empire Strikes Back," was portrayed in different ways over time due to changes in technology and updates to the films.

  1. Original 1980 Version: In the original release of "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980), the holographic appearance of Emperor Palpatine was created using a composite of actress Marjorie Eaton’s face, chimpanzee eyes superimposed, and the voice of Clive Revill.

  2. Special Edition and Later Releases: For the 2004 DVD release and subsequent versions, the scene was updated to maintain continuity with the prequel trilogy. Ian McDiarmid, who played Emperor Palpatine in "Return of the Jedi" and the prequel trilogy, was digitally inserted into the scene as the holographic Emperor. Ian McDiarmid also provided the voice for the updated version.

Box has some slight shelf wear. Please ask for actual images, if required, before ordering online.

Vinyl line has expanded rapidly, with thousands of different figures released covering everything from classic movies like Star Wars and Back to the Future to contemporary TV shows like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones.

The appeal of Pop! Vinyl figures lies in their unique designs and the way they allow fans to express their love for their favourite characters. The figures have become a cultural phenomenon, with conventions and expos dedicated to Pop! Vinyls and their collectors.
