THE TOUR
Robert Anthony Plant (born 20 August 1948, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England) is a British rock songwriter and singer famous for being the lead vocalist of one of the most influential bands of all time: Led Zeppelin. He is known for his powerful style and wide vocal range. After Led Zeppelin's breakup following the sudden death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Plant pursued a successful solo career.
Robert Plant's "Non-Stop Go Tour" in 1988 was in support of his album "Now and Zen," which was released in February 1988. The album marked a departure from the more experimental sound of his previous works and embraced a more mainstream rock sound, featuring hits like "Tall Cool One" and "Ship of Fools."
The tour took him across North America, Europe, and Japan, and it was well-received by both fans and critics. The setlist for the tour typically featured a mix of songs from his new album "Now and Zen," as well as classic Led Zeppelin tracks and some of his earlier solo material. Robert Plant was known for his charismatic stage presence and powerful vocals, and his live performances during this tour showcased his enduring talent as a rock singer.
Throughout the tour, Plant was backed by a talented group of musicians, including guitarist Doug Boyle, keyboardist Phil Johnson, bassist Charlie Jones, and drummer Chris Blackwell.
The "Non-Stop Go Tour" was a significant moment in Robert Plant's solo career, helping to solidify his status as a successful artist in his own right outside of Led Zeppelin. It demonstrated his ability to evolve and adapt to changing musical trends while still paying homage to his iconic rock legacy.
