Willie Dixon is best known for playing the upright bass and sang with a distinctive voice and was one the most prolific songwriters of his time. Next to Muddy Waters, Dixon is recognized as the most influential person in shaping the post–World War II sound of the Chicago blues. He is a Grammy Award Winner, Blues Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
