Record Store Day 2026 – Orders Placed!
We’ve now placed our Record Store Day 2026 orders with our suppliers. Thanks to everyone who told us what they were hoping to see this year - we’ve listened and ordered everything we possibly can to bring the biggest and best range to Rockaway Records for the big day on Saturday April 18.
As always with Record Store Day, we won’t know exactly what will arrive (or in what quantities) until stock starts landing from suppliers around 48 hours before the event.
Once stock begins arriving in store, we’ll start posting exactly what has landed below on this page, as well as on our social media channels. These updates will happen in real time as deliveries come in, so you’ll be able to see what will be available on the day.
Better Than Christmas!
Record Store Day at Rockaway is about more than what’s in stock.. it’s about being part of the community. From the early-morning queue to the chats with fellow fans, giveaways, and that shared love of music, it’s one of our favourite days of the year. We do our best to get in as many official releases as we can, and anything left after the weekend goes live online the following Monday. Keep your eyes (and ears) open.. you never know what gem you’ll find.
As stock arrives in-store closer to the date we will add it to this page so you know exactly whats going to be at Rockaway Records.
Early Bird Info – Where to Line Up
Our doors at Rockaway Records open at 8am, and yes.. the line often starts forming well before that. We want Record Store Day to be fun, fair, and friendly for everyone. To avoid the issues we’ve had in previous years with people running in from different entrances, we’re doing things a little differently this year so that everyone gets a fair go.
Where to Line Up
If you’re arriving early, please head to the Westfield Carindale entrance near McDonald’s and Event Cinemas, RIGHT NEAR THE YUM CHA!
Look for the GREEN carpark on Level 1 - there will be an A-Frame sign marking the official Rockaway Records Record Store Day queue entrance.
You’re welcome to line up as early as you like at this entrance.
WHY THIS IS A GREAT SPOT: So much car parking, easy access and out of the weather!
What Happens at 6am
Westfield Carindale will open the doors to the centre at 6am. Please stay in the line!
At that time, a Rockaway Records team member will come out to the line and walk everyone into the centre together, in the exact order you arrived. Just like the Pied Piper!
No running, pushing or racing from other doors - the line you’re in is the line that counts.
Forming the Rockaway Line
Once inside, we’ll guide everyone down to Rockaway Records, where the line will be formed from the front of the store in the same order.
PLEASE NOTE: Sorry guys, but if you sneak in to the centre and try to line up at the store before this... we will ask you to go to the back of the line. That would suck! So please don't do that.
Allocating Releases
Before 8am, our team will walk down the line and allocate up to two Record Store Day releases per person, depending on what is still available.
This helps make sure as many people as possible get something they’re hoping for.
Doors open at 8am and we will have your wishlist ready at the counter under your name!

Record Store Day is about music, community, and looking out for each other.
Please be respectful of fellow music lovers in the line and remember:
No pushing in
No saving spots for large groups
No sneaky queue jumping
We want the morning to be fair, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.
Bring your wishlist, your patience, and maybe a coffee and a cushion, and we’ll see you bright and early.

What RSD releases are you getting?
Great question — and one we get a lot! We order every official Record Store Day release we possibly can, and each year we ask for your suggestions on social media to help guide our orders — so yes, we’re listening! That said, the final decision on what stock we actually receive is up to the record companies, who divvy up titles to stores around the country.
We usually don’t know what we’re getting until around 48 hours before the event, when stock starts arriving. As it comes in, we’ll update a live list on our website so you can see exactly what will be available at Rockaway Records on the day. That way, there are no surprises when you line up!
Can I pre-order or hold Record Store Day releases?
No, sorry! One of the official rules of Record Store Day is that we can't take pre-orders or hold items. It’s strictly first come, first served to keep things fair for everyone.
What happens if I miss out on a title?
Anything left after Record Store Day weekend will go up for sale on our website from 9am Monday (the Monday straight after RSD). So there’s still a chance — but once stock is gone, it’s gone!
If you have missed out at Rockaway Records we suggest visiting some of the other amazing independent stores participating on RSD.
What time can we get into Westfield Carindale?
Please line up from the Lime Green Carpark entrance on level 1. Our team will come and lead the line from 6am to Rockaway Records! If you try to sneak in early, security will ask you to leave and you’ll lose your place in line. We want everyone to have a fair and fun day, so thanks for doing the right thing and waiting until the official opening time!
Can I buy multiple copies of the same title?
Nope — to give as many people as possible a fair shot, it’s one copy per title, per customer.
Do you sell RSD releases online on the day?
No — official Record Store Day rules say we can’t sell any RSD titles online until after the event. Anything left over will be listed online on Monday at 9am.
What payment methods do you accept on the day?
We accept cash, EFTPOS, and most major credit cards. If you're planning a big shop, make sure your bank knows — sometimes big purchases early in the morning can trigger security checks.
Will there be giveaways or special offers?
Absolutely! We love to put together a few goodies for our early birds and loyal customers. Keep an eye on our social media for announcements closer to the day.
