"Ultraman" is a popular and influential Japanese television series in the genre of Tokusatsu (special effects) that originated in the 1960s. Created by Eiji Tsuburaya, the show premiered on July 17, 1966, and has since become a major part of Japanese pop culture. The original series follows the story of Shin Hayata, a member of the Science Patrol (a special investigative team), who gains the ability to transform into Ultraman, a giant, superpowered alien, to battle monstrous creatures known as Kaiju.

Ultraman's distinctive features include his silver and red colour scheme, his ability to grow to giant size, his "Specium Ray" attack, and the "Colour Timer" on his chest, which blinks when his energy is low.
