Originally released in 1974 and reissued on CD by Vertigo, Nightlife marked a key turning point for Thin Lizzy — their first album with guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson, forming the classic twin-lead lineup that would define their sound. Produced by Ron Nevison, the album saw Phil Lynott embrace a more soulful and reflective style, blending smooth, jazzy textures with the band’s signature hard rock edge. Standout tracks include the tender “Still In Love With You,” the powerful “Showdown,” and the funky title cut “Night Life.” While less heavy than their later records, Nightlife reveals the band’s range and emotional depth, and remains one of Lynott’s most heartfelt and musically rich releases. A beautifully melodic and often underrated gem in the Thin Lizzy catalogue.
