Remastered 1996 Legacy edition of Spirit’s classic self-titled debut album, originally released in 1968 on Ode Records. A cornerstone of American psychedelic rock, Spirit blends jazz-influenced instrumentation, intricate arrangements, and haunting melodies. Featuring Randy California’s innovative guitar work and Jay Ferguson’s distinctive vocals, this album includes “Fresh-Garbage”, “Mechanical World”, “Taurus” (later noted for its resemblance to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven”), and the epic 10-minute closer “Elijah”. This expanded reissue adds three essential bonus tracks, including an alternate take of “Elijah”. A landmark of late-60s creativity and progressive rock experimentation.
