PRE-OWNED CD

DESCRIPTION
1995 US CD reissue combining the groundbreaking 1983 debut studio album Confusion Is Sex with the 1983 Kill Yr. Idols EP from influential New York experimental rock band Sonic Youth. Featuring 13 tracks, this collection captures the band's raw early sound, blending dissonant guitars, unconventional tunings, feedback and abrasive noise rock experimentation. Includes the early classics "(She's In A) Bad Mood," "Shaking Hell," "The World Looks Red," "Confusion Is Next" and "Kill Yr. Idols," alongside their chaotic interpretation of The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and a live version of "Shaking Hell." Featuring Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon and Lee Ranaldo, these recordings document Sonic Youth's formative years in New York's underground no wave scene. An essential release for fans of experimental rock, post-punk and the origins of alternative music.
