PRE-OWNED CD

DESCRIPTION
2006 European remastered CD reissue of the groundbreaking 1976 debut album from influential American proto-punk band The Modern Lovers, presented in digipak packaging. Fronted by singer-songwriter Jonathan Richman and featuring future Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison, the album was largely recorded during the early 1970s with producer John Cale of The Velvet Underground. Featuring nine original album tracks, including the iconic "Roadrunner," "Pablo Picasso," "She Cracked," "Hospital," "Astral Plane" and "Modern World," this landmark release combines minimalist guitar-driven rock, deadpan vocals and sharply observed lyrics. Widely regarded as a cornerstone of proto-punk and alternative rock, The Modern Lovers remains an essential album that helped shape the sound of punk, new wave and independent music.
