Vintage original official concert merchandise from the actual gig in 1994 - 30 years ago. This show was the first in a series of Screen Legends of Hollywood Series, presented by G'Day Australia Productions Pty Ltd. 

This is a stunning piece of history featuring photos and lots of information about Mickey Rooney. It's only 10 pages long but is in excellent condition.

THE TOUR
Mickey Rooney, an iconic American actor, had a prolific career that spanned nearly nine decades, featuring in over 300 films. He was particularly renowned for his roles in the Andy Hardy series during the 1930s and 1940s, where he portrayed a quintessential American teenager. His versatility as an actor was evident in both his early roles as a child in vaudeville and his later work as a character actor. 

Mickey Rooney had a notable career in musicals, both in film and on stage. His involvement in musicals showcased his versatile talents as an actor, singer, and dancer.

1. Film Musicals:

   • "Babes in Arms" (1939): Perhaps his most famous musical film, Mickey Rooney starred alongside Judy Garland in this classic, directed by Busby Berkeley. The film is best known for its lavish musical numbers and the famous song "Good Morning."
   • "Strike Up the Band" (1940): Again teaming up with Judy Garland, this film featured Rooney as a high school student who forms a band. It includes the hit song "Strike Up the Band" and was directed by Busby Berkeley.
   • "Babes on Broadway" (1941): The third of the "Backyard Musical" series with Judy Garland, directed by Busby Berkeley. This film is famous for its patriotic and energetic musical numbers.
   • "Girl Crazy" (1943): Another popular musical with Judy Garland, featuring classic Gershwin tunes like "I Got Rhythm" and "But Not For Me." This film helped to further establish Rooney's position as a musical star.

2. Stage Musicals:

   • "Sugar Babies" (1979): This was a significant Broadway hit for Rooney. A burlesque-style musical revue, it co-starred Ann Miller. The show was a tribute to the era of classic American burlesque and showcased Rooney's talents in comedy, song, and dance.
   • Variety Performances and Vaudeville: Rooney's early career in vaudeville, a form of variety entertainment popular in the early 20th century, laid the foundation for his skills in musical theatre. He was adept at performing sketches, singing, and dancing from a young age.
