1992 UK compilation reissue from BGO Records pairing both classic albums by heavy psychedelic trio May Blitz – May Blitz (1970) and The 2nd Of May (1971) – on one CD. A cult favourite of the early hard rock and prog underground, the band delivered powerful riff-driven workouts, extended jams and atmospheric passages that bridge psychedelia and proto-metal. Featuring standout cuts such as “Smoking The Day Away,” “Fire Queen” and “For Mad Men Only,” this is an essential document of early ’70s British hard rock.
