PRE-OWNED BOOK

DESCRIPTION
Jazz Cavalcade: The Inside Story Of Jazz by Dave Dexter Jr. is an illustrated history of jazz published in 1946, offering a contemporary account of the music's development from its early roots through swing and the emerging modern jazz era.

Written by influential jazz journalist and record producer Dave Dexter Jr., with a foreword by Orson Welles, the book discusses the musicians, bands, recordings and publications that helped shape jazz during the first half of the twentieth century. Illustrated with numerous period photographs, it provides an especially interesting perspective because it was written while many of the major figures and developments it documents were still contemporary.

An original period paper bookmark printed with the words “How To Save Automatically” was found inside the book and is included with this copy.
