THE TOUR
Dire Straits' "Live in '85/'86 World Tour" was a concert tour by this British rock band in support of their album "Brothers in Arms."

Some key details about the tour are:

1. Timing: The tour took place primarily in 1985 and 1986, following the release of their "Brothers in Arms" album in 1985. This album included chart-topping hits like "Money for Nothing" and "Walk of Life."

2. Iconic Lineup: The tour featured the classic Dire Straits lineup, with Mark Knopfler on vocals and lead guitar, John Illsley on bass, Alan Clark on keyboards, Guy Fletcher on additional keyboards and backing vocals, Chris White on saxophone and Terry Williams on drums.

3. Popularity: "Brothers in Arms" was a massive commercial success and helped catapult Dire Straits to global stardom. The album's success was in large part due to its innovative music videos and the popularity of MTV during that time.

4. Highlights: The tour featured performances of many of Dire Straits' greatest hits, including "Sultans of Swing," "Romeo and Juliet," "Private Investigations," and, of course, "Money for Nothing.

5. Legacy: The tour and the associated album cemented Dire Straits' status as one of the most significant rock bands of the 1980s. The band's unique blend of rock, folk, and jazz elements, combined with Mark Knopfler's distinctive guitar playing, continues to resonate with fans.
