DESCRIPTION
Long Beach 1976 captures legendary British hard rock band Deep Purple live during their turbulent final tour of the 1970s, featuring the Mark IV lineup of David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Tommy Bolin, Jon Lord and Ian Paice. Recorded at Long Beach Arena in California in February 1976, this electrifying performance showcases the band's powerful musicianship with extended versions of classics including "Burn", "Smoke On The Water", "Lazy", "Stormbringer" and "Highway Star". Featuring Tommy Bolin's distinctive guitar work and the dynamic vocals of Coverdale and Hughes, the recording offers a fascinating snapshot of this short-lived era of Deep Purple. This 2016 German remastered reissue is presented across three vinyl LPs as part of The Official Deep Purple (Overseas) Live Series and includes bonus live recordings from Springfield in 1976. An essential release for collectors of classic hard rock and Deep Purple live performances.
