THE TOUR
David Lee Roth's "Skyscraper" concert tour took place in 1988 to promote his second solo album of the same name. The tour was launched after the success of Roth's debut solo album, "Eat 'Em and Smile," and featured a blend of his new material from "Skyscraper" along with some of his previous hits.

The tour kicked off on April 15, 1988, in Lakeland, Florida, and concluded on December 9, 1988, in Tokyo, Japan, spanning over eight months. It covered North America, Europe, and Asia, with a total of 104 shows performed in various cities.

"Skyscraper" was known for its extravagant stage production and energetic performances by David Lee Roth and his band. The setlist featured songs from his solo albums as well as some classic Van Halen tracks, since Roth was the former lead vocalist of the iconic rock band.

Some of the notable songs performed during the tour included "Just Like Paradise," "Stand Up," "Damn Good," "Hot Dog and a Shake," and "Skyscraper." The concert visuals included elaborate stage setups, pyrotechnics, and a lively atmosphere that highlighted Roth's charismatic stage presence.

Roth's band for the "Skyscraper" tour consisted of talented musicians, including guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan, keyboardist Brett Tuggle, and drummer Gregg Bissonette. This lineup showcased impressive instrumental performances and complemented Roth's energetic showmanship.

Despite the tour's success and positive reception from fans and critics, it marked the end of an era for David Lee Roth as a solo artist. After the "Skyscraper" tour, Roth would eventually reunite with Van Halen for a brief period in the early 1990s before embarking on various other musical projects.
