DESCRIPTION

Vintage original official concert merchandise from the actual gig in 1984 - over 39 years ago. Printed for the tour of North America, Japan and Australia. The promoter for the Australian leg was the Paul Dainty Corporation Pty Ltd.

This is a stunning piece of history featuring full colour photos of all the band members. It's in very good condition but it does have brown age spotting on the covers. The inside pages are excellent. It comes with some newspaper clippings from Melbourne newspapers.

Comes with a ticket stub from the Melbourne Entertainment Centre, Australia, for the evening of Saturday, 7th July, 1984.

THE TOUR
Culture Club was a British new wave and pop band that rose to prominence in the early 1980s. The group was known for its catchy melodies, distinctive sound, and the flamboyant and androgynous style of its lead singer, Boy George. His distinctive fashion choices, including colorful and elaborate outfits and his signature fedora hat, made him a fashion icon during the 1980s. 

Boy George was openly gay at a time when LGBTQ+ issues were not as widely discussed as they are today, and his openness about his sexuality had a significant impact on pop culture.

The band was formed in London in 1981. The core members of the band included:

• Boy George (real name George Alan O'Dowd) - Lead vocals
• Roy Hay - Guitar and keyboards
• Mikey Craig - Bass guitar
• Jon Moss - Drums and percussion

Culture Club's music was a blend of various genres, including new wave, pop, reggae, and soul. Their sound was characterized by catchy melodies and Boy George's distinctive, soulful vocals.

Some of their popular songs include "Karma Chameleon," "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," "Time (Clock of the Heart)," and "Church of the Poison Mind."
