PRE-OWNED CD

DESCRIPTION
2026 US and European CD release of the long-lost 1998 album from legendary American experimental rock band Butthole Surfers, issued through Sunset Blvd Records. Originally recorded as the follow-up to their commercially successful Electriclarryland album, After The Astronaut remained unreleased for nearly three decades following disputes with Capitol Records. Some of its material was subsequently re-recorded for the band's 2001 album Weird Revolution. Newly mixed by guitarist and producer Paul Leary, this long-awaited release finally presents the original recordings as the band intended. Featuring 12 tracks including "Weird Revolution," "Intelligent Guy," "Jet Fighter," "Mexico," "The Last Astronaut" and "Junkie Jenny In Gaytown," the album delivers the band's unmistakable fusion of psychedelic rock, electronic experimentation, noise rock and unconventional rhythms. A significant archival release for fans and collectors of alternative and experimental rock.
