By 1964, The Beatles had conquered the UK, Europe and much of the world, but the United States remained largely uncharted territory. That changed forever on February 9, 1964, when the band appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show before an audience of more than 73 million viewers, launching Beatlemania across America and paving the way for their record-breaking U.S. tour later that year.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this landmark period, the original U.S. Beatles albums released during 1964 and early 1965 have been reissued using the original Capitol master tapes. Cut on the original lathe used by Capitol Studios during the era, these releases faithfully recreate the unique U.S. albums, which often featured different track listings, artwork and mono mixes from their UK counterparts.

This release forms part of the acclaimed collection commemorating one of the most important years in popular music history. The albums feature faithfully replicated artwork and have been mastered with constant reference to original first pressings, allowing listeners to experience these historic recordings with greater clarity while preserving their original character.
