THE TOUR
The "Mercenaries of Metal" tour was primarily to promote their album "Ram It Down," released in the same year. "Ram It Down" was their 11th studio album, and the tour reflected the high-energy, intense style that Judas Priest was famous for.

The concerts typically featured a mix of songs from "Ram It Down" as well as classic Judas Priest hits. Tracks like "Heavy Metal," "Ram It Down," and "Blood Red Skies" were often included, along with staples like "Breaking the Law," "You've Got Another Thing Comin'," and "Living After Midnight."

The band, led by vocalist Rob Halford, was known for delivering high-energy performances. Halford's powerful voice and stage presence, combined with the twin guitar attack of K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton, and the solid rhythm section of bassist Ian Hill and drummer Dave Holland, made their live shows memorable.

The "Mercenaries of Metal" tour helped cement Judas Priest's reputation in the metal community. While the "Ram It Down" album received mixed reviews, the tour itself was a testament to the band's enduring appeal and their prowess as live performers.

This tour was part of a larger era in heavy metal where theatricality, intense guitar work, and powerful vocals were at the forefront, and Judas Priest was among the bands leading this charge. The "Mercenaries of Metal" tour is remembered as a significant chapter in the band's history and in the broader context of 1980s heavy metal.
