THE TOUR
Genesis embarked on their "World Tour 1977" in support of their album "Wind & Wuthering," which was released in December 1976. This tour marked a significant period in the band's history, as it was the last tour to feature guitarist Steve Hackett, who left the band later that year.
The tour travelled through England, North America, South America and Europe, visiting theatres and arenas from January to July 1977. Â Â The band used improved sound and stage lighting systems than they had previously, including a set of Boeing aircraft landing lights. The tour featured Genesis' first South American dates, playing eight shows in three Brazilian cities, drawing large crowds and an enthusiastic response from fans and the press. Recordings from the tour's dates in Paris were used for the band's second live album "Seconds Out" which was released in 1977.Â
During the "World Tour 1977," Genesis performed classic songs from "Wind & Wuthering" and other albums from their discography. Some of the highlights from their setlist included tracks like "One for the Vine," "Eleventh Earl of Mar," "Afterglow," and "Blood on the Rooftops," among others.
Genesis was known for their elaborate and visually stunning stage setups, and this tour was no exception. The band's live shows incorporated intricate lighting effects, elaborate stage designs, and occasionally some theatrical elements to enhance the overall concert experience.
COLLECTABILITY
Tour programs are highly collectable and sought after for several reasons. Firstly, they provide a tangible memento of a specific concert or event, allowing fans to relive the experience and cherish the memories associated with it. Tour programs often feature exclusive content like behind-the-scenes photos, interviews, and detailed information about the artists and their performances. Additionally, they serve as a snapshot of a particular era in an artist's career, making them valuable to both music enthusiasts and historians. Whether you're a dedicated fan or a passionate collector, owning these programs offers a tangible connection to the music world and serves as a treasured piece of memorabilia.
Programs can also be framed together with other items we have on our website such as vinyl records, official stage guitar picks, autographs, backstage passes, concert tickets, drumsticks and photos and you can create a truly one-of-a-kind unique piece of memorabilia.
