THE TOUR
Elvis Costello's "Spike" album was released in 1989, and the "Spike" tour in the UK was a significant part of his promotional efforts for the album. The tour featured several concerts across the United Kingdom. Elvis Costello performed in various cities and venues, including London, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, and more.

The tour was primarily aimed at promoting his album "Spike," which was released in February 1989. "Spike" was a critically acclaimed album and included songs like "Veronica" (co-written with Paul McCartney) and "Tramp the Dirt Down," which garnered significant attention.

Elvis Costello was known for working with various backing bands over the years. For the "Spike" tour, he often performed with The Rude 5, a group of talented musicians, which included renowned artists like Marc Ribot, T Bone Burnett, and others.

The setlist for the "Spike" tour typically included songs from the album itself, along with a mix of Costello's earlier hits and fan favorites from his extensive catalog. Concertgoers could expect a blend of rock, new wave, and pop songs during these performances.
