THE TOUR

Elton John's "Tour de Force" in 1987 was a significant concert tour for the legendary musician. The tour  primarily focused on Australia and New Zealand.

One of the most notable aspects of the Tour de Force was Elton John's collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. This added a unique and grandiose element to his performances, offering audiences a different interpretation of his well-known songs.

The tour also led to the release of a live album titled "Live in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra," which was recorded at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. This album is particularly famous for its live rendition of "Candle in the Wind."

During this tour, Elton John was facing significant health challenges. He had throat surgery in 1987, and this tour was one of his major outings following that surgery. The strain on his voice was evident, and it led to a more raspy, deeper voice, which added a unique texture to his performances during this period.

COLLECTABILITY
Tour programs are highly collectable and sought after for several reasons. Firstly, they provide a tangible memento of a specific concert or event, allowing fans to relive the experience and cherish the memories associated with it. Tour programs often feature exclusive content like behind-the-scenes photos, interviews, and detailed information about the artists and their performances. Additionally, they serve as a snapshot of a particular era in an artist's career, making them valuable to both music enthusiasts and historians.  Whether you're a dedicated fan or a passionate collector, owning these programs offers a tangible connection to the music world and serves as a treasured piece of memorabilia.

Programs can also be framed together with other items we have on our website such as vinyl records, official stage guitar picks, autographs, backstage passes, concert tickets, drumsticks and photos and you can create a truly one-of-a-kind unique piece of memorabilia.
