THE TOUR
Elton John's 1982 tour of Australia was a significant event for both the artist and his fans in the region. Known as the "Jump Up!" tour, it marked Elton John's return to touring after a brief hiatus and showcased his album "Jump Up!" which was released in 1982, his sixteenth studio album. The album included hit songs like "Blue Eyes," "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)," and "I'm Still Standing."
The "Jump Up!" tour was notable because it marked Elton John's return to touring after a semi-retirement period. He had announced his intention to retire from performing live in 1977, but by 1980 he had returned to the studio to record new music. The subsequent tour of Australia was part of his renewed commitment to touring.
Elton John's 1982 tour of Australia contributed to his ongoing global popularity and cemented his status as one of the most iconic and enduring artists in the music industry. His concerts have always been celebrated for their entertainment value and the connection he builds with his audience.
