Dezo Hoffman & Robert Freeman - Beatles Catalog 1986 Silver K Fine Arts
DESCRIPTION
A tri-fold catalog for the Dezo Hoffman and Robert Freeman Sales Exhibition held in 1986 at Silver K Fine Art, 1092 High St, Armadale, Vic, Australia. The catalog contains a separate flyer with Historic Photographs details on one side and advertising for the upcoming release of Songs By George Harrison on the other.
Dezo Hoffman was the first professional photographer to ever photograph the Beatles. This occurred in 1962 when Dezo was working for the Record Mirror in London. He had received a letter from a fan, bitterly complaining that the press was ignoring a 'fab' group in Liverpool called The Beatles. This led Hoffman to Liverpool where he took his first ever pictures of the Beatles - a three-day session which resulted in Dezo catching their unique style and energy on film for the first time and started a friendship which lasted many years.
Robert Freeman's association with the Beatles began in the summer of 1963. He first met them in a town called Bournemouth, on the south coast of England, where they were in the middle of their first nationwide tour. As with Hoffman, what began as a 2 or 3 day photographic assignment led to a professional association lasting for several years. Robert Freeman was in fact the photographer who did a number of album covers including With The Beatles, Help, and Rubber Soul.
CONDITION
This catalog is in excellent condition. There are some small handwritten notes on some of the pages but otherwise beautifully clean
