Vintage original official concert merchandise from the actual gigs in 1987 and 1990 - over 32 years ago.

The 1987 Glass Spider tour program was repackaged with the later 1990 Sound and Vision program and sold at concerts as a pack. These programs are part of an amazing warehouse find of overstock programs from the time that have now seen the light of day. In most cases the program will be as new with minimal shelf wear. These are in original shrinkwrap and have not be opened. Extremely hard to find in this condition. Great for any collector/investor. Fantastic early colour concert shots of Bowie and his band.

THE TOUR
The Glass Spider Tour was launched in support of David Bowie's album "Never Let Me Down." It began on May 30, 1987, and concluded on November 28, 1987. The tour spanned four legs and featured a total of 86 performances across Europe, North America, and Australasia.

The tour was known for its elaborate stage production, featuring a massive set resembling a giant spider, known as the "Glass Spider." The spider set was designed to create a theatrical atmosphere, with various platforms and bridges for Bowie and his dancers to perform on. The show incorporated elaborate choreography, multimedia projections, and theatrical elements to enhance the visual spectacle.

Bowie performed a mix of his classic hits and songs from his recently released album. The setlist included popular tracks such as "Let's Dance," "China Girl," "Modern Love," "Heroes," and "Rebel Rebel," among others. The tour received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the spectacle while others felt it overshadowed the music.

The Sound + Vision Tour took place in 1990 and was conceived as a retrospective of David Bowie's extensive career. It served as a farewell tour of sorts, as Bowie announced during the tour that he would no longer perform his older songs live after its conclusion. The tour began on March 4, 1990, and ended on September 27, 1990, with a total of 108 shows across Europe, North America, and Japan.

Unlike the elaborate staging of the Glass Spider Tour, the Sound + Vision Tour had a simpler setup, focusing more on the music and the career-spanning setlist. The performances featured a blend of Bowie's greatest hits and fan favorites from his extensive discography.

The tour was well-received by fans and critics, who appreciated the opportunity to witness Bowie perform a comprehensive selection of his iconic songs. It showcased Bowie's evolution as an artist and highlighted the depth and breadth of his musical catalog.

Both the Glass Spider and Sound + Vision Concert Tours played a significant role in solidifying David Bowie's reputation as a legendary performer, demonstrating his ability to captivate audiences with his distinctive style, musical versatility, and theatrical flair.

COLLECTABILITY
Tour programs are unique pieces of rock history and can also be simply a piece of nostalgia of your days of concert going. Great for any collector/investor. Fantastic early concert shots of band.
