THE TOUR
The Carole King and James Taylor Troubadour Reunion Tour in 2010 was a highly anticipated concert tour featuring two legendary singer-songwriters.  The tour was a celebration of their friendship and musical partnership and it marked the first time in four decades that Carole King and James Taylor had first performed together at the Troubadour on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. It was a nostalgic journey that revisited their classic songs and showcased their enduring talent.

The tour kicked off on March 26, 2010, in Melbourne, Australia, and included over 50 dates across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and North America. Their sets stretched close to three hours each time (including a brief intermission) with the two of them onstage the entire time.

They performed more than two dozen of their individual hits, while providing harmony vocals and instrumental support for each other (James Taylor on guitar, Carole King on piano). The core of their band, guitarist Danny Kortchmar, bassist Leland Sklar and Russ Kunkel on drums rounded out the reunion tour. All of these musicians had played with Ms. King and Mr. Taylor at the moment of their ascent four decades previously.

The idea for a collaborative tour first came up in 2007 when Mr. Taylor and Ms. King performed a series of shows together at the Troubadour to commemorate the club’s 50th anniversary.

The Troubadour Reunion Tour 2010 was a memorable event in the world of music, bringing together two iconic artists who had made significant contributions to the singer-songwriter genre. It was a celebration of their enduring friendship and musical legacy, and it provided fans with a unique opportunity to experience their timeless music in a live setting.
