THE TOUR
The Black Sabbath "Mob Rules" concert tour took place in 1982 to support the band's album of the same name. This tour marked a significant moment for Black Sabbath as it was their first tour with vocalist Ronnie James Dio since his return to the band for the recording of the "Heaven and Hell" album in 1980.

The "Mob Rules" tour started on November 15, 1981, in London, England, and concluded on August 18, 1982, in Portland, Oregon, United States. The tour consisted of over 80 shows, including performances in Europe, North America, and Japan.

The concert setlists during the "Mob Rules" tour predominantly featured songs from the "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" albums, both of which were recorded with Dio. The tour showcased Dio's powerful vocals and showcased the band's new musical direction, which had a heavier and more epic sound compared to their earlier work.

Black Sabbath's live performances during this tour were characterized by a dark and theatrical stage presence. The band used elaborate lighting effects, smoke, and props to enhance the visual experience for the audience. Dio's commanding stage presence and his ability to engage the crowd made the concerts memorable for fans.

Some notable shows from the "Mob Rules" tour include the band's performance at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on December 31, 1981, which was recorded and released as the "Live Evil" album in 1982. Another significant concert was the band's performance at the US Festival in May 1983, where Black Sabbath headlined the heavy metal day of the festival.

Despite the success of the "Mob Rules" tour, tensions between band members began to escalate, leading to Dio's departure from Black Sabbath shortly after its conclusion. However, the tour remains a pivotal moment in the band's history and is remembered as a significant era for Black Sabbath and the heavy metal genre as a whole.
