DESCRIPTION

Believe it or not, Australia’s surf-music super group The Atlantics has just released a new album of all-new original songs. Jim, Martin & Bosco – even Peter Hood can be heard on the closing track. What makes this release truly remarkable is that it’s 60 years since The Atlantics first topped the charts with “Bombora” – Australia’s true surf music anthem. All the magic is there. - "Pacific Longboarder"

The Atlantics were the first Australian artists to write and record their own composition that went on to become a number one hit on the Australian music charts. It also achieved considerable international success. That song of course was Bombora – released in 1963.

60 years later the band is still writing and recording their own material. Still Making Waves is an exciting collection of all-new songs, riffs, chords, and drumbeats.

All of The Atlantics magic is definitely still there.

However, one song demands special mention – the last track Stranger in Mykonos. It was recorded in 2013 but never released and the drummer at that time was of course Peter Hood. It was the last song ever recorded by Peter with the band. Sadly, Peter passed away in 2021. But what better way to close out the album than with this track.

Rest In Peace my friend. You will always be the heartbeat of The Atlantics. "Jim Skiathitis - Atlantics"
