Ant-Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee, artist Jack Kirby, and scripter Larry Lieber, the character first appeared in "Tales to Astonish" #27 in January 1962. The character has also been featured in various media adaptations, including films, television series, and video games.
The Ant-Man mantle has been worn by several characters in the comics, but the two most famous are Dr. Hank Pym and Scott Lang. Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, was a brilliant scientist who discovered a substance called the "Pym Particle," which allowed him to change his size. He could shrink down to the size of an ant while maintaining his normal strength level, hence the name Ant-Man. Pym was also a founding member of the Avengers.
Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man, was a thief who initially stole the Ant-Man suit to save his daughter's life but eventually took on the role of a hero. Lang's character became more widely known due to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he is portrayed by actor Paul Rudd.
