Position: Retail Store Team Member (Casual)

Location: Rockaway Records, Carindale

Must be 18+ | Must be available weekends + Thursday nights

What You'll Do:

Customer Service First: Greet every customer with a smile. Assist them with finding products, recommendations, and tech help (turntables, accessories, etc.).

Product Knowledge: Learn our wide range of inventory, from vinyl to vintage pop culture items, and help customers understand and appreciate them.

Multitask Like a Pro: You'll switch between helping customers, cleaning, stocking, and working on the computer—sometimes all in the same hour.

Point of Sale (POS): Handle sales transactions, gift vouchers, and returns using our POS system.

Inventory Management: Enter data, create stock cards, label and price items accurately.

Visual Merchandising: Keep the shop clean and organized. Dust, clean glass, and display items in a way that tells a story and draws customers in.

Heavy Lifting: Some of our inventory is heavy—boxes of vinyl, gear, and displays—so you’ll need to be comfortable lifting up to 10kg

Be a Rockaway Ambassador: Talk music, answer questions, and help create a welcoming space for everyone, including customers with special needs.

What We're Looking For:

Excellent Communication Skills – Must be comfortable talking to people of all ages and backgrounds

Common Sense & Reliability – We work closely as a team and depend on each other

Strong Computer Literacy – Able to quickly learn our systems for stock entry and sales

Decent Knowledge of Music & Pop Culture – You don’t need to know everything, but curiosity is a must!

Willingness to Clean & Maintain Store Standards

Physically Capable – Lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and moving inventory

Quick Learner – Able to adapt to changing tasks throughout the day
