THE TOUR
The Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over" tour was a highly anticipated and iconic tour that took place in the mid-1990s. The tour marked the band's reunion after a 14-year hiatus. The Eagles had split up in 1980; the name of this tour came from a statement made by Don Henley, one of the founding members of the Eagles, who had previously remarked that the band would get back together "when hell freezes over."Â
The tour was significant because it marked the first time in over a decade that the Eagles had performed together as a group. The band's original lineup, consisting of Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, and Timothy B. Schmit, was back together.
The "Hell Freezes Over" tour was recorded and released as a live album and video in 1994. The album featured live versions of many of the Eagles' classic songs, along with four new tracks, including "Get Over It" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive."Â Both the live album and video were highly successful, reaching the top of the charts. The album was certified multi-platinum in the United States.
The success of the "Hell Freezes Over" tour and the resulting live album and video played a crucial role in revitalizing the Eagles' career and legacy. It also led to subsequent tours and recordings by the band in the years that followed.
