FALSE PEAK RECORDS LAUNCH WITH SPRING SKIER RELEASE

Struggling to navigate the depths of Lamington rainforest with water running low would not particularly seem like the setting for novel ideas; however, this was not the case for Brisbane musician Remy Boccalatte, who after dedicating two decades to music, both solo and in various bands, decided to start a record label dedicated to releasing quality, integral music.
To commemorate this event, the first vinyl release is the reissue of the Spring Skier recording entitled 'We Were Astronomers'. With a handful of new, local releases planned for the upcoming months as the label's initial catalogue, False Peak Records aims to produce music for listeners to find themselves lost in too.

Rummaging through a storage container filled with stained clippings, old pins and All Access passes, a hardrive was stumbled upon, like a lost, black box recorder. Upon inspection, the files were discovered for Spring Skier's 'We Were Astronomers', a collection of songs by Kane Mazlin and Remy Boccalatte, which did not seem to fit with the musical outlets at the time: Kane in the indie pop Hungry Kids of Hungary and Remy in the post-hardcore Paper and The Plane. Recorded by Matt Redlich (Ball Park Music, Holy Holy) after Remy joined the Hungries, the songs are rooted in 'dream folk', drawing influence from new and old.
Having toured and shared stages with the likes of Andy Bull, Angie Hart, and San Cisco, Spring Skier evoke a sense of nostalgia through well constructed, pop sensibilities.
